The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a vital player in the management team. They support the General Manager in all areas of the business and will take responsibility in their absence.

As AGM, your duties will include:

  • Assisting the GM with recruitment processes

  • Maintaining thorough knowledge on F&B offerings

  • Providing F&B Training for FOH 

  • Ensuring consistency with F&B offerings

  • FOH rota planning & holiday tracking

  • Weekly wet, sundry and cleaning product orders

  • Ensuring FOH cleaning rotas are being followed thoroughly

  • Assisting with digitalised stock takes 

  • Assisting with function planning and management

  • Liaising regularly with the GM regarding staff conduct management and supporting decisions made

  • Menu updates (paper and website)

  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, health, safety and hygiene legislation/guidance

  • Assisting the GM in maintaining budgets and working towards targets

  • Enforcement of good waste management and sustainable working procedures

  • Second point of contact for incoming customer enquiries and complaints; appropriate referral

  • Assisting the GM in dealing with FOH staff queries and issues

  • Assisting the GM with continual file/data management and organisation – paper, electronic

  • Taking shared responsibility for correspondence checks on days off on a rotational basis

  • Adhering to and enforcing data protection procedures

Front of house servers play a vital part in the Boat Brae dining experience. Customer satisfaction is always our top priority and we are looking to hire friendly, professional servers who can maintain these standards and help drive the business forward.

As Front of House Server, your duties will include:

  • Serving food /preparing and serving drinks

  • Cash handling

  • Answering the phone

  • Taking bookings

  • Setting up and breaking down Front of House areas

  • Providing the highest possible standard of customer service

  • Cleaning and deep cleaning the Boat Brae premises

  • Polishing cutlery

  • Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation and general front of house organisation

  • Assisting management with promotion and publicity for Boat Brae events
